Hi. Dave Nuzzi here. Thank you for visiting my Blog.
In 1903 my Grandfather, Piedro Capodiferro came to Elis Island from Napoles Italy.
He was a professional musician, the Trumpet being his main instrument but he played several others including the violin, saxaphone and piano.
He was the first solo artist to perform at Radio City Music Hall and the Metropolitan Opera house when they first opened. He was very good friends with Arturo Tuscanini the famous conductor of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra at the time. Another good friend of his was Enrico Caruso the worlds most famous Opera Tenor. Both of these famous people played the piano that I now own and is in our "Piano Room" in our house.
In 1909 my Grandfather went to "Henry Steinway and Sons" in Long Island City, Queens, NY and had this 5ft 7inch Baby Grand piano custom built for him. It's been in my family ever since. With the top open it has the richest sound I've ever heard from a piano.
You can hear me playing it at: http://www.youtube.com/dnuzzi56
